One of the legacy projects of the President Bola Tinubu government, the Lagos-Calabar Coastak Highway will be commissioned by May 29, 2025.
Revealing this on Saturday, during an inspection tour, Minister of Works, David Umahi, said that 10 kilometers of the highway would be ready by May next year.
The project being handled by HITECH Construction, has been divided into five section that would be commissioned in phases.
The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project is being funded through the EPC+F (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Finance) model, which allows the contractor to arrange financing for the project. This model requires counterpart funding from the Federal Government ².
The project, aimed to improve connectivity and stimulate economic growth along Nigeria’s coastline, is expected to boost trade between states, reduce transportation costs, and spur investment in real estate, hospitality, and tourism ³.
