As the crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State deepens, party chieftain Alhaji Shehu Tambaya has voiced strong support for Chief Samuel Ortom, whom he lauds as a distinguished leader. Reacting to the ongoing issues, Tambaya dismissed the purported suspension of Chief Ortom as laughable, attributing it to a lack of respect for leadership and constituted authorities.
Tambaya emphasized that the immediate past Governor of Benue State, Ortom, has set himself apart as a leader committed to exemplary values and vision. He stated, “In the ever-evolving landscape of politics, it is rare to encounter a figure within the North Central who not only embodies the principles of integrity, dedication, and visionary leadership but also actively drives our party PDP towards a brighter future.”
He further highlighted Chief Ortom’s transformative contributions to the party, noting their profound and enduring impact on national discourse. Tambaya expressed dismay at the actions of those he described as attempting to undermine Ortom, labeling the moves as a deliberate effort by external forces to weaken the PDP leader in North Central Nigeria.
Tambaya condemned these actions, calling them an “erosion of respect for leadership,” and urged party members to trust and support their leaders, especially in challenging times. He stressed the importance of constructive criticism over personal attacks, advocating for a culture of respect and engagement that strengthens leadership rather than undermining it.
“We must foster an environment where leaders are supported in their endeavors to guide us through challenges,” Tambaya advised, emphasizing that supporting leaders is essential for a more prosperous and united future.
