Mr. Peter Gregory Obi, the 2023 Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), has called on Muslims across Nigeria to pray for the nation’s liberation during these challenging times of economic hardship.
In a goodwill message on Monday, Obi highlighted that this year’s Eid-el-Maulud celebration comes at a time when many Nigerians are enduring severe hardships. He acknowledged the widespread struggles, including economic difficulties, lack of access to basic healthcare, and the alarming number of children out of school, which weigh heavily on the nation’s collective conscience.
“The teachings of the Prophet—centered on love, compassion, and kindness—offer us hope and guidance in these difficult times,” Obi stated. “His message urges us to be our brother’s keeper, to show empathy to those in need, and to work together in unity. We must address the inequalities in our society, ensuring that every child receives an education and every family has access to healthcare.”
Mr. Peter Gregory Obi urged Nigerians to reflect on the values that unite the nation and renew their commitment to building a more just and equitable society. “Together, we can overcome these trying times and create a prosperous nation where every individual, regardless of background or belief, has the opportunity to thrive,” he added.
