The Zamfara chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has credited the absence of nationwide protests in the state to the good governance of Governor Dauda Lawal. The party’s acting Chairman, Muktar Lugga, made this statement on Friday in Gusau while reflecting on the protests, which have turned violent and led to looting in some neighboring states.
The protests, which began on Thursday, have not reached Zamfara. According to Lugga, this is because residents are satisfied with the state administration’s efforts.
“Zamfara residents are pleased with the government’s achievements,” Lugga stated. “The administration has initiated several beneficial programs and policies, including declaring a state of emergency on education and health, paying off a backlog of gratuities, constructing and reconstructing roads, renovating and equipping schools and hospitals, and supporting agricultural businesses.”
While acknowledging the economic hardships facing the country, Lugga expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s efforts to address these challenges. He called on the people to remain law-abiding and continue praying for their leaders to succeed in overcoming the nation’s difficulties.
The protests, expected to continue until August 10, have not seen any participation in Gusau or other towns in Zamfara, which have remained calm during this period.
