Nigerian beauty, who was recently bullied out of Miss South Africa beauty peagant, Chidimma Adetshina, has emerged Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 in a keenly contested peagant in Lagos.
Chidimma, who represented Taraba State in the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 peagant, defeated other contestants to clinch the diadem.
The 23-year-old beauty queen, who is a Law student, accepted the invitation of organisers of Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 pageant to join the race after the South African disappointment.
South Africans had protested that even though Chidimma is a South African with a Nigerian father, she would not participate in the beauty peagant, let alone represent the country. She had to withdraw from the beauty contest.
At the grand finale of Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 in Lagos, on Saturday night, Guy Murray-Bruce, President of Silverbird Group, organisers of the pageant, announced Chidimma as the winner.
As the winner of Miss Universe Nigeria 2024, Chidimma will represent Nigeria at the 73rd Miss Universe competition in Mexico on November 16. She will contest against Miss South Africa and others in the race for the world beauty crown.
