Announcing the results on Saturday night, Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) said the APP won 22 chairmanship seats, while the result of the last local government area was being collated.
Justice Adolphus Enebeli, RSIEC Chairman, who declared the results in Port Harcourt, said that voting closed at 3 p.m., with scores of voters exercising their franchise
He commended voters in the state for performing their civic responsibility.
On Etche Local Government Area, the last of the councils, he said that results from wards were being collated at the time of announcing the other results. He promised that the winner would be declared when the collation of results was completed.
The RSIEC chairman said that the election was free and credible.
