The Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, yesterday, rallied support for Edo State governorship Candidate of All Progressives Congress, Senator Monday Okpebholo ahead of the September 21st poll in Edo State.
He assured that with the support of traditional institution in the State led by Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, Oba of Benin and collective will of the people, the state will develop.
The remarks Vice President made the remark when he led the APC National Campaign Council to the Oba in Benin City, where he solicited for Royal blessings of the Oba.
He commended Oba Ewuare ll “skillful balancing of tradition with modernity by ensuring that the values and customs of Benin people are preserved” and extended the best wishes of President Bola Tinubu to the first Class traditional ruler.
Addressing the Benin throne, the Vice President said, “As we approach the governorship election in this great and beautiful State of Edo, we seek your blessings and counsel. Our party’s Candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, is searching for progress and development of this great State.
“With your support, and the collective will of Edo people, we can usher in an era of unprecedented growth and prosperity for the State”, he said ahead of the mega rally of the party in the State.
Responding, Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, Oba of Benin, welcome the Vice President and wished the delegation accompanied by APC-led Governors, some members of the National Assembly led by its Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio and National leaders of the ruling party in Nigeria led by its national Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, well in their endeavour.
