President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, for a three-day official visit at the invitation of President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo. The Nigerian leader landed at Malabo International Airport at 2:07 pm local time and was welcomed by the country’s Prime Minister, Manuela Roka Botey.
During the visit, the two leaders are expected to hold bilateral talks and sign agreements on key issues such as oil and gas, as well as security cooperation. The private meeting between the presidents will be followed by the formal signing of these bilateral agreements.
Following the meeting, President Tinubu will sign a historic visitors’ book, after which a press statement will be released, and the day will conclude with a formal dinner.
Accompanying President Tinubu on this visit are key officials, including Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Tuggar, Defense Minister Abubakar Badaru, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas) Ekperikpe Ekpo, and Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo. Also in attendance are the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice Lateef Fagbemi, Youth Development Minister Jamila Ibrahim-Bio, and the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mele Kyari, among others.
The visit also includes representatives from the business community, particularly from the oil and gas sector, including the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of Matrix Group, Abdulkabir Adisa Aliu.
