Despite rumors circulating on social media, veteran Nollywood actor Olu Jacobs is alive and well. On Sunday, June 30, reports falsely claimed that Jacobs had died at the age of 82, prompting an outpouring of condolences from fans and followers.
Nigerian columnist Betty Irabor confirmed in a post on her social media account that Jacobs is hale and hearty, urging people to ignore the false reports of his passing. Similar rumors about Jacobs’ death have previously spread online without official confirmation.
In June 2020, a similar false report on Twitter and Facebook was debunked by the spokesperson of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Monalisa Chinda-Coker. Additionally, in August 2022, another rumor about the actor’s death was refuted by his wife, Joke, who even threatened legal action against those spreading false information.
