Mr. Yakubu Garba, Acting Governor of Niger State, has strongly condemned the recent bandits’ attack on Anguwan Mai-Giro, a border community between Shiroro and Rafi Local Government Areas.
In a statement released on Thursday in Minna by Alhaji Ibrahim Bologi, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Garba described the attack as “satanic, insensible, atrocious, and callous,” resulting in the tragic loss of lives among the villagers.
“It is very disheartening and disturbing for fellow humans to carry out such a barbaric and vicious act on their fellow humans,” Garba stated.
The acting governor extended his condolences to the victims’ families, the community members, and the entire population of the affected council areas. He reaffirmed the Bago-led administration’s firm commitment to tackling insecurity in the state.
Garba also urged security agencies to intensify their efforts in combating insecurity, assuring that the state government will continue to provide full support in this fight. He offered prayers for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives and for Allah’s comfort for those injured.
According to reports, the attack occurred on Wednesday night, claiming the lives of approximately 13 people.
